،
Your lovesick one poured out—poured out
Pour out your sorrows, pour
his tears as from waterskins.
your tears like an offering
His condition is one of trage-
His state in life is weariness, grief, and toil
dies, hardship, and weariness.
His days and nights are spent weeping since he fell in love
His day and the ni-
Do not blame him, do not be surprised, do not reproach
ghts are spent weeping since he fell in love.
He has tasted the wine of love and wailed
Do not blame him; do not
Oh, the sighs of "Oh!"
be surprised; no reproach.
In his anguish there is flame
He tasted what he tasted of
His strings and music have fallen silent
the wine of love, and sobbed.
The joy has departed
Ah, at the utterance of 'Ah!'
Within the breast's recesses, a flame.
He forsook his strings and the
playing; he forsook musical rapture.
