قطائفٌ قد حُشيت باللّوز
والسُّكّرِ الماذيّ حَشوَ المَوزِ
Qaṭāʾif pastries have been stuffed with almonds,
and pure-white sugar is the banana’s filling.
تسبحُ في آذيّ دُهنِ الجَوزِ
سُرُرتُ لمّا وقعت في حوزي
They swim in waves of walnut oil.
I rejoiced when they came into my possession—
سرورَ عبّاسٍ بقربِ فَوزِ
as ʿAbbās does when Fawz draws near.
