آيات نبوَة الهَوى بي ظَهَرَت

قَلبي كَتَمت وَفي زَماني اِشتَهرت

The verses of love's prophecy in me appeared

My heart concealed them, and in my time they became renowned

هَذي كَبدي إِذا السَماء اِنفَطَرَت

شَوقاً وَكَواكِب الدُموع اِنتَثَرَت

This is my liver when the sky ruptured

Yearning, and the stars of tears scattered
