1. القَلم لما بَدا يَرسم قَصيد

    فُوق طَلحية يزاجي للمداد

    When the pen began to compose a poem

    Above the parchment conversing with the ink

  2. قُلت هَيا قال لي ماذا تُريد

    قُلت ودي بُيوت مِن عندك جَواد

    I said come on, it said what do you want

    I said I want houses from you, generous one

  3. قال لي ابشر بهم خُذهم نَضيد

    قُلت هاها غب من ثديو وَجاد

    It said good news, take them freshly built

    I said ahaha it ran out of ink and paper

  4. وَاشتغل في قافها يرعد رَعيد

    هاج بحر الفَن في غرة جَماد

    And it got busy with its rhymes thundering

    The sea of art was turbulent in frozen January

  5. وَارزم الدَلال ينضد به جَديد

    بُيوت للي يفهموا ند وَزباد

    And the mediator records with it something new

    Houses for those who understand softness and firmness

  6. صحت أَنا من واهِجي يا قَلب حيد

    بصوت عالي يَسمع الصم الجماد

    I woke up from my delirium, oh heart be steadfast

    With a loud voice that the deaf inert can hear

  7. وَافهم المَضمون مني وَاستفيد

    شُوف كيف الترك خَلونا بداد

    And understand the meaning, benefit from me

    See how the Turks left us with nothing

  8. يَشتتوا الإِنسان راد أَو ما يُريد

    بَين نشحين الطَوائف وَالبداد

    Scattering people whether they want it or not

    Between the pinches of sects and bandits

  9. ما عَلى ما صابَني ظَني مَزيد

    جوز وَاترك وَالبس ثِياب الحداد

    I have no more suspicions about what hit me

    Be patient and leave it and wear the clothes of mourning

  10. قال هُو يا وَليفي لا تَزيد

    تا اوعظك بمثال قالوهم جداد

    It said oh dear do not add more

    Let me advise you with an example told by ancestors

  11. لا تَكون من الملا رجلا وَغيد

    اترك المَحذور عَنكَ غاد غاد

    Do not be harsh with the Mullah and tyrant

    Leave the forbidden, go away go away

  12. الدَهر ما لو خوي وَلا وَديد

    وَاللَيالي قَط ما الهم وَداد

    Time has no brother or friend

    And nights never have affection

  13. الدَهر عن صاحبك خلك بَعيد

    وَاللَيالي شُوف منظرهم سَواد

    Time keep your friend away from you

    And nights look at their darkness

  14. الدَهر ياما خرب قبلك رَبيد

    وَاللَيالي مُلوك ادعوها رَماد

    Time how many strongholds it destroyed before you

    And nights the kings, call them ashes

  15. الدَهر لا عض في نابا حَديد

    بسحن العَظم الصَحيح مَع الزرد

    Time does not bite steel canines

    It makes the healthy bone with the gems rot

  16. الدَهر ياما سَقى مر الصَديد

    وَكَم جناس طُيور فَخ الترك صاد

    Time how much bitter poison it made drink

    And how many beautiful birds trapped by the Turks

  17. كَم وَكَم مثلك عَلى جسر الحَديد

    فات يُدوي مِن زَمانو ما اِستَفاد

    How many like you on the bridge of iron

    Passed from old times without gaining anything

  18. هَذي دُنيا شَرَها دايم مَديد

    إِلا نبيا في وقاتهم ذاقوا النكاد

    This world its evil is always renewable

    Except the prophets who tasted agony in their times

  19. البَعض ذبحوا وَالبَع راحوا بَديد

    وَالبَعض غلوا شدانا بالقياد

    Some were slaughtered and some perished far away

    And some were chained taking them in shackles

  20. ما تخلد بهِ أَحد غَير المَجيد

    خالق السَبعة رَواسي وَالشداد

    No one lives forever except the Majestic

    Creator of the seven solid pillars

  21. اتعظ وَاصبر عَلى حُكم الوَحيد

    هيك ربك في شَتات الكُل راد

    Take advice and be patient with the judgment of the One

    That’s how your God brings together everyone straying

  22. قُلت لهُ يا قَلب ان رَأيك سَديد

    صج ربك ان أَمر يَقضي المراد

    I said to it oh heart your opinion is right

    Hope in your God that the command will be done

  23. قال لي ما شُفت جاء مع البَريد

    طرس يَفرَح خاطرك من يوزغاد

    It said to me I got a letter with the mail

    A drawing that makes your heart happy from Yozgat

  24. ان أَبو فندي الشَفاوي المَجيد

    كت يم الشام زيزوم الطراد

    That the eminent Abu Fandi Al-Shafawi

    Wrote clarifying the confusion of adversity

  25. قُلت هذا صج هالعلم وَأكيد

    من بَعد غيره من شُيوخ البِلاد

    I said this is true, confirmed knowledge

    After others from the elders of the countries

  26. خاضها لَو بحرها قاعو بَعيد

    دارك عَلى نَفسه عَسى أَنو استفاد

    If the experts dove in its sea with a bottom deep

    Apply it to yourself maybe he will benefit

  27. قُلت أَنا مَقبول لَو ما يَستفيد

    قلط المَجهود في حَق العِباد

    I said I would be grateful if he benefits

    If not the effort was in vain for the slaves

  28. أَطيب من اللي وَجوههم مثل الجَليد

    مسفعة وَالخال عمدة للولاد

    Better than those with faces like ice

    Inflamed cheeks and moles are the best for boys

  29. والَّذي ما ينتخي وَدو معيد

    وَأَكثر الشيخان بالدُنيا عداد

    And those who do not choose and are not loyal

    And most Sheikhs in life are scammers

  30. إِن فكنا يسوا ملك عبد الحَميد

    عِند دوار الاسم بين النداد

    If it were up to us we would make King Abdulhamid

    At the Court of Names between the opponents

  31. دَع أَهل حوران يرعوا في حَصيد

    اللَيث أَبو فندي عَلى الشيخان زاد

    Let the people of Houran graze in the harvest

    The lion Abu Fandi exceeded the two Sheikhs

  32. بعر ذا من فوق علميا شَديد

    حط كُور الميس يا حر الهداد

    An ox from above, severe in knowledge

    He lowered the basket of Mays, oh hot brand

  33. مرصع العمدان بالدر النَضيد

    وَالبريسم كلل جناب الشداد

    Inlaid columns with precious pearls

    And the silk covered the side of the headband

  34. وميركة يلمع هدبها وَالسَريد

    مطورة بِالريض من ربد الهناد

    And the handkerchief sparkles, soft and smooth

    Twisted with silk from the dyes of Henna

  35. وَالخَرج مرقوم بعهونا يَميد

    وَريش هيج نعام صافي بِالسَواد

    And the purse embroidered with our designs swaying

    And feathers of an ostrich pure black

  36. تحزم بحدبا مخضرة الحَديد

    وَسيف هنديا صَقيل مِن الحداد

    Belted with a green iron belt

    And an Indian sword polished by the blacksmith

  37. ومارتينه بزرها يَرمي بَعيد

    حَشوَها مِن كَعبها مثل الجَراد

    And a rifle whose bullet goes far

    Packed from its stock like locusts

  38. قم وَخُذ بِالمزهية ايش تريد

    تَرى مَعاناكم يا ولد عَنا يابعاد

    Get up and take the weapon whichever you want

    You will find our suffering oh distant children

  39. الصُبح مِن سيناب لا باح الجَديد

    سير مِن عندي عَلى طُرق الرَشاد

    The dawn from Sinab still not the new morning

    Walk from me on the paths of guidance

  40. لا تَجي عالباب مَقفول بحَديد

    اِجمح عَلَيها الصُور غدوه عَالبراد

    Do not come to the door locked with iron

    Light its images tomorrow in the refrigerator

  41. الدَرب عابيواط عَنها لا تَحيد

    وَانحرن صمصون قبليها صماد

    The path Abyaot stay away do not deviate

    And cut through Samsun before it the pole

  42. وَسهجو سيواس لو نَوك يبيد

    وَانقرا وَشاهرقرا وَهك البلاد

    And cross Siwas even if Nawk is destroyed

    And strike through both Akkar and Hak the countries

  43. وَقَيسرية واذنا حزت المَريد

    عاحلب دربا فضا بَين النَفاد

    And Keserya and Aznaz divided the disciples

    Ahelb the path is clear between the slopes

  44. وَعا حماه وَحمص وَالفَيحا وَميد

    ريح وارد المنهل الصافي براد

    And Ahamah, Homs and Al Fayhaa and Maid

    The wind blows the pure cold spring

  45. الصُبح مِن جلق عَلى مَد المَديد

    سير غَدوة وَاقضب الغربي طراد

    The dawn from Jilq a long time

    Walk tomorrow and hit the western partridges

  46. الدَرب عالكسوة عَلى الصَبي عَديد

    عَالغَدر عَالسَيد النابي قداد

    The path to the Fur coat many soldiers

  47. عازرع خُذ بِاليَسار وَلا تَحيد

    وَيمموا قَبلي مَشرق بِالصَماد

    To agriculture take the left and do not deviate

    غَير وَلغا مالك بحوران عاد

    When you arrive to the farm divided the disciples

  49. نوخو في ربعة الشيخ العَتيد

    أَبو فندي سَيد مِن ركب الجَواد

    Camp in Rebaa the eminent Sheikh

    Abu Fandi the master from the caravan of the generous horses

  50. عَنتر الفُرسان في يَوم شَديد

    زبن غيده مثل غُزلان الحَماد

    Antara the horsemen on the difficult day

    Tamable like the young mountain goats

  51. مُطلق الكَفين لَو فان البَليد

    حاتمي الخَلق من طبعو الجَواد

    Free both hands or even heavier

    O people of generosity in creation and traits

  52. صاحب الشوفات وَالرَأي السَديد

    كاسب النوماس شو فاتو بعاد

    The owner of insights and the very right opinion

    Successful dealer of goods far and wide

  53. حيد ملجا لِلَّذي حملو ضَهيد

    كَهف للمنضام من خاص الجَواد

    A flood for whoever carried a sacrifice

    A haven for whoever joins the generous people

  54. حر هيلع لا هبد يَفري الضَديد

    زير من روس المَناصب وَالعماد

    A free protector if problems chase

    Bold against positions and pillars

  55. أَبو فندي دوم كساب الحَميد

    كاسي العريان بهدوما جداد

    Abu Fandi always the winner of praise

    Dressing the naked in new clothes

  56. مشبع المعتام صباب الجَميد

    فَوق حيل وَرز للضيفان زاد

    Satisfying the thirsty frozen solid

    Over mischief and harm provides food for guests

  57. خَلفة المَرحوم المحمد عَضيد

    مِن ظَنا عساف مِن قَوم محاد

    Successor of the late Muhammad reinforcement

    Of those from the people of Mohad guessing correctly

  58. شوق غضروفا حجلها وَالبَريد

    مثل برقا لا لمع تحت الرَعاد

    Longing carried him the mail and the fine fabrics

    Like lightning flashing under the clouds

  59. الأَسارى كلهم صاروا عبيد

    لجنابو رق من دُون العباد

    All the captives have become slaves

    For his highness fewer than the worshipers

  60. هذا كُلو صج وَالمَولى شَهيد

    مِن عقب هذي المَصايب وَالبعاد

    All this is true and the Lord is witness

    After these disasters and distances

  61. قَبل عندي المير وَخلفو سَعيد

    يَشتروا المَجلوب من سوق المَزاد

    I received the colonel and left behind Saïd

    To buy what is imported from the auction

  62. أَهل الوظايف وَالرتب نسيوا الحَفيد

    حيف أَنهم من ضنا ذوك الجياد

    The civil servants and officials forgot the grandson

    Harming them is from the stingy horses

  63. اللي شرانا صار عالأُمثال سيد

    ريت عمرو من عِندي رَبي مِداد

    The one who bought us became the master

    I wish my lifetime supply of ink from my Lord

  64. قال المثل من قبل من حكم الوَليد

    مشتراة الحر بالحسنى سَداد

    The proverb said before from the rule of Al-Walid

    Buying the free with the good price is reparation

  65. وَحنا حسانيك نزورك كُل عيد

    مثل ما يزوروا المَنادر بِالعياد

    As for us your Hsaneyk we visit you every Eid

    Like they visit the minarets at the festivities

  66. اختم كلامي بالنبي الهادي الرَشيد

    المُصطَفى خَير البَرايا وَالعباد

    I conclude my words with the rightly guiding prophet

    Al-Mustafa the best of creations and worshipers

  67. يَفرج لمن جوات قلبو من لهيد

    من حوال الترك وَالقُوم الضداد

    Relieve those whose hearts melted from sorrows
