1. This place has no equal in beauty.

May God protect it from the vicissitudes of time.

  2. So contemplate, let your gaze roam, and look

At the wondrous meanings it holds within.

  3. And stroll through a hall that has revealed its splendor,

Like a bride escorted with sweet songs.

  4. And look around it, ahead and behind:

You will find there every wish and glad greeting.

  5. Within its sanctuary, gazelles graze proudly,

So take your pleasure where the gazelles graze.

  6. And its air has grown languid, yet

Try it for the [health] of bodies.

  7. What a hall—a garden of beauty!

Adorned with [fair maidens] and youths.

  8. There is nothing there but [a nightingale] singing,

Or a shining crescent, or a branch of bān.

  9. So drive care away while you remain there,

For it is a treasure of joy and a refuge of safety.

  10. And accept the counsel of your time, and seize

The pleasure of life in beautiful faces.

  11. And seize the opportunity for delights there,

With a pool, [songbirds], and lovely women.

  12. And enjoy yourself, for the house of your glory stands high,

In lofty honor, free of sorrows.

  13. The Pleiades drew it up to their heights,

And clothed it in bordered robes of generosity.

  14. Its ground is a garden, and its heights are glory,

And its sides are solidly built.

  15. A house of glory founded on joy,

And the fruit of [the two gardens] is near amid human company.

  16. A dwelling that holds loveliness and beauty,

For it is a garden swaying with branches.

  17. And birds of joy sing within it,

    With clear notes and melodies.

  18. O joy of time, pitch your tent over us,

And meet us with bottles or with singing girls.

  19. This is paradise: enter in peace,

And may you enjoy the bliss of the gardens.

  20. May God increase it in eminence and beauty,

As long as the minutes of time follow one another.
