1. The nightingale of fellowship sang when you arrived.

O honored one, peerless in his age!

  2. And the joy that departed because of your absence

Returned when you came safely, and was renewed.

  3. O peerless one, you gathered the ranks of noble virtues,

After their ranks had been scattered.

  4. Indeed, an age that granted us nearness to you

After separation—is an age to which we owe [a debt of gratitude].

  5. So congratulations on your visitation and pilgrimage,

And on attaining your wish at every sacred site.

  6. Stand, circumambulate, hasten, and cast, with glory and victory;

May death oppress foes and envy.

  7. And enter the House safe and reassured,

And drink your fill of Zamzam's clear, cooled water.

  8. Then return safely to us; and to it

May you return every year—returning is more praiseworthy.

  9. And restore the gathering of hadith, which was

Through your eminence, a necklace of neatly strung pearls.

  10. Peerless one of the age, who rivals you in glory?

And in truth, glory is ascribed to you.

  11. You have narrated eminence on the authority of Ibn Kathir,

Through an authentic report in his words, or one supported by a chain.

  12. And you spread love in a gathering of excellence,

Where glory is yours through diligence and good fortune.

  13. For you, from us, are prayers at every hour,

And praise fragrant with [agarwood] and incense.

  14. And from you we have a gathering filled with light:

Everyone who comes [attains eminence] and finds happiness.

  15. How many repeated praises of excellence we gathered there,

And heard there the songs of Ma'bad.

  16. And we plucked fruits from its spirit,

Which reached perfection; counting cannot encompass them.

  17. Oh, may God preserve a gathering in which you are

The star Farqad among the people of perfection and learning.

  18. A gathering where you are a shining full moon,

And hadiths are recounted there around you.

  19. And the masters of hadith are either narrators

From you, or listeners who attest to your excellence.

  20. Let your eye find comfort, for you are worthy of glory,

Forever—to God belong this glory and eternity.

  21. Your forebears gained preeminence long ago,

Then it passed to you by prescribed share and reversion.

  22. What preeminence! They recorded its date:

Yusuf of the age, may you ever remain a master.

  23. At every sunrise, may God grant you more

Blessings that never cease to grow through gratitude.
