أَنا في عَرض آل بَيت نَبيّ
طَهَر اللَه بَينَهُم تَطهيرا
I am under the protection of the Prophet's household;
I am among the honored family of the Prophet
God has thoroughly purified their midst.
Whom Allah has purified with complete purification
سادَة أتقِياء أَعطاهُم اللَه
مقاما ضَخماً وَملكا كَبيرا
Godfearing lords, to whom God has granted
Noble, pious leaders whom Allah has given
An imposing station and a great dominion.
An exalted station and great kingdom
يتلقون من يَزور حماهم
بِوجوه مُلِئنَ بشرا وَنورا
They welcome whoever visits their sanctuary
They welcome those who visit their sanctuary
With faces filled with gladness and light.
With radiant, cheerful faces
من أَتاهُم مؤمّلا جدواهُم
عاد مُستَبشِراً بِهِم مَسرورا
Whoever comes to them hoping for their bounty
Whoever comes to them hopeful, finds their generosity
Returns rejoicing in them, delighted.
And returns delighted and joyous through them
اِن دَعوا في الخطوب يَوماً أَجابوا
أَو سعوا كان سَعيَهُم مَشكورا
If ever called upon in calamities, they answer;
If they are called upon in times of distress, they answer
Or if they strive, their striving is gratefully received.
Or if they strive, their efforts are appreciated
يا كِرام الوَرى حَسِبت عَلَيكُم
فَاِقبَلوا خادِما ذَليلا حَقيرا
O noble ones of humankind, I am counted among you;
O noble ones of the world, I have depended on you
So accept a servant, humble and lowly.
So accept a humble, lowly servant
يا بُحور الكمال يا آل طه
كَم مَنَنتُم وَكَم جَبَرتُم كَسيرا
O oceans of perfection, O family of Taha,
O oceans of perfection, O family of Taha
How often you have bestowed favors, and how often mended the broken!
How much you have favored and uplifted the fallen
كَم أَغَثتُم مَن جاءَكُم مُستَغيثا
وَأَجرتُم من جاءَكُم مُستَجيرا
How often you have aided those who came seeking your help,
How many crying for help have you aided
And sheltered those who came seeking your protection!
And how many seeking refuge have you sheltered
فَعَسى عطفة تَسكُن روعى
وَتُزيل الهُموم وَالتَكديرا
So may a kindly gesture calm my fear
Perhaps your kindness may calm my fears
And dispel cares and distress.
And dispel the worries and sorrows
أَنتُم القَوم كل وَصف جَميل
لَيسَ الا عَلَيكُم مَقصورا
You are the people; every beautiful quality
You are the people whom every beautiful description suits
Is reserved for you alone.
Nothing but the best is reserved for you
جود يمنا كم كَواكِب غيث
لا نَراكُم الا نراكم بُحورا
Your right hand's bounty is rain-bearing stars;
Your generosity rains like stars of bounty
We never see you without seeing oceans.
We see you as nothing but oceans
حاشَ لِلَّهِ أَن يضام نَزيل
في حما الآل أَو يَرى تَعسيرا
God forbid that a guest should be wronged
Far be it that a guest would be wronged
Within the family's sanctuary, or encounter hardship.
In the sanctuary of the family or meet hardship
قم عياذى وَعدّتي وَمَلاذي
هُم نَصيرى اِذا طَلَبت نَصيرا
Rise, my refuge, my support, and my sanctuary!
Arise, my refuge, my supplies and my sanctuary
They are my helpers when I seek a helper.
They are my helpers whenever I seek a helper
هُم غياثي من شَرّ يَوم عَبوس
اِنَّهُ كانَ شَرّ مُستَطيرا
They are my succor from the evil of a frowning day;
They are my relief from the evil of a gloomy day
Indeed, it was an evil spreading far and wide.
It was indeed terrible and foreboding
يا أَخا الشَوق هَل تَرى لُبنى عَب
د مَناف في العالَمين نَظيرا
O brother of longing, do you see for the sons of ʿAb—
O brother of longing, do you see anyone like
—d Manaf any peer in all the worlds?
The sons of Abdul Muttalib among all people?
هَل عَلى غَير بَيتِهِم نَزل الوَحي
بِجِبريل خادِما مَأمورا
Has revelation descended upon any house other than theirs,
Did revelation descend upon any but their house
Through Gabriel, a servant under command?
With Gabriel as a servant assigned?
هَل سِواهُم قَد أَذهَبَ اللَه عَنهُ
الرجس نَصا في ذِكرِه مَسطورا
Has God removed from anyone other than them
Did Allah remove defilement from any but them
Defilement, as explicitly inscribed in His revealed word?
As stated clearly in His Scripture?
لا وَمن خصَّهم بِأَشرف جَدّ
قَد أَتى بِالهُدى بَشيرا نَذيرا
No—by Him who favored them with the noblest forefather,
No - and the one who privileged them with the noblest ancestor
Who came with guidance, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner.
Certainly came with guidance, as a bearer of good news and a warner
كَم شَريف تَراهُ في السلم بَدرا
وَتَراهُ في الحَربِ ليثا غَيورا
How many a noble one you see as a full moon in peace,
How many honorable ones do you see in Islam, shining like the full moon
And see in war as a fiercely protective lion!
And in war, fierce and protective lions?
هُم مُلوك عَلى المُلوك جَميعا
رِفعَة هاشِمِيَّة لن تَبورا
They are kings above all kings:
They are sovereigns over all sovereigns
A Hashimite eminence that will never perish.
The Hashimi glory will never fade
