1. Through your verse, this science's delight has grown.

    And from your brilliant mind its lamp has shone.

  2. And al-Sanusi's text, which you have versified

    and refined, has been freed of its crookedness.

  3. And you adorned this faith with verse, so it turned

    to proclaim proudly: 'Its crown, Taj, is the faith's adornment!'

  4. And you treated the weakness of the science of faith's foundations,

    by distilling its meaning, so its constitution grew sound.

  5. And this faith had been difficult and inaccessible,

    but through this verse its treatment became easy.

  6. And the market for learning it had been stagnant,

    but now its brisk trade continues.

  7. I reflected on it and rejoiced in its beauty,

    and its method and paired structure increased my delight.

  8. Hold fast to this discipline, for a person's faith

    grows more radiant through it, and his argument gains strength.

  9. For this is the sea where whoever comes to

    its watering places finds its bitter brine sweet.

  10. On the like of it, let a person spend his lifetime,

    for its broad paths have gathered all the principles.

  11. And we surely hope for abundant reward for the one

    by whose hand this verse was produced.

  12. Through it, answered prayers are harvested

    and collected for Taj al-Din, for they are his tribute.
