1. O family of Taha, whoever comes to your quarter,

hoping for your kindness, is not wronged.

  2. We have sought refuge with you, family of Taha—and can

anyone who seeks refuge with noble people be wronged?

  3. People throng [unclear wording] around you,

and a sweet watering place is thick with crowds.

  4. Whoever comes to you seeking the rain of your bounty

gains from generosity his utmost desire.

  5. O my masters, O part of the Chosen One,

O you who hold the highest station in excellence,

  6. you are my refuge and my shelter, and I have

a heart enraptured by you, O my masters.

  7. And by your honor, I truly love you

with a love that knows no end.

  8. I have stood at your thresholds, enraptured,

and no blame falls on anyone enraptured with you.

  9. O grandson of Taha, O Husayn, upon

your comforting tomb be peace from me.

  10. Your exalted shrine has become a Kaaba;

we circle around it and touch it reverently.

  11. A new House in which guidance has dwelt,

and so it became like the Ancient Sacred House.

  12. May my soul be your ransom, O tomb that holds

Husayn, the grandson, the valiant imam.

  13. Indeed, I have sought a means of approach through what you contain of

    honor, towering glory, and dignity.

  14. O visitor to this shrine, seize the opportunity,

for those who journey to it have so much to gain!

  15. The breast expands with joy when you visit it,

and great cares are lifted from you.

  16. How much light and splendor it holds,

as though it were the garden of the best of creation.

  17. May God bless him for all time,

as long as gray doves sing in the garden.

  18. I beseech You, O God, O our Lord,

O You who are manifest in everlastingness and permanence,

  19. forgive Abdullah for what he has done wrong,

and grant him, at death, a good ending.
