Alas, who has a frivolous soul

Whose stinginess and aloofness have been made clear

Indeed, servants of God, am I not perceiving

When I look upon the hillock, my soul renews its feast

Else a tear flows after a sigh

That rends my heart when it dares ascend

Though I have been accused by the dweller of passion

Of false promises, by the truthful and his oath

And if the passion asked me after that for

More love, I would find nothing to increase it

Alas! May God destroy passion after a glance

That benefited you the day you received it

So I hid the longing from my companions after

The only one flowed from my blinking eyelids

And the tears of the eyes before seeing

Were a habit for Umm Amr I would renew

At nights, desire calls me and I answer

And my world, nothing new has been created in it

So I became having abandoned from the spring of youth

Thirsty valleys of my heart I protect
