جَلَوتَ لنا قشرا من الصبح مترعاً
من الشمس يَعشَى دونها المتوسّمُ
You unveiled for us a morning moon, brimming
with sunlight—before it, the discerning gazer is dazzled.
فأعُينُنا سكرى لفرط شعاعه
وشارِبُها من شدة السُّكر مُفحَمُ
Our eyes are drunk on the fullness of its radiance,
and whoever drinks it is struck speechless by the force of the intoxication.
