وقهوةٍ فى فم الإبريق صافيةٍ
كدمعِ منجوعةٍ بالإِلفِ مَعبَارِ
A coffee, pure in the pitcher's mouth
Like tear oppressed with weariness sincere
كأنّ إبريقنا والراحُ في فمه
طيرٌ تناول ياقوتا بمنقارِ
As though our jug with wind trapped in its lip
A bird who rubbed a ruby with its beak
