لا تَسَل بَعدَ قَتلِ يوسُفَ عَنّي

فَفُؤادي مُثَلَّمٌ كَسِلاحِه

Do not ask about me after Joseph's murder,

For my heart is shattered like his blade.

لَو تَأَمَّلتَ مُقلَتي يَومَ أَودى

خِلتَني باكِياً بِبَعضِ جِراحِه

Had you examined my eyelids the day they killed him,

You would have found me weeping for some of his wounds.
