The kindness of God, how much it has sheltered
Even though the enemy's arrows are far off
Ancient yet youth rejuvenates it and its beauty
Remains, no pyramids made it old
When the heat of summer is intense, its water
And air are cool, peaceful to it
Rich with the Nile, no need to seek life
With hands that welcome floods of crowds
No need for beasts heavy with howdahs and loads
As if its buildings were flags
Each with wings spread as if they were
Clouds sailed by the winds
Gliding with those inside heedless
Such are the nights and days of fate
Mighty is Egypt's throne, awe-inspiring
No worldly desires beyond its reach
