1. عَرفتُ بِعالجِ فَبِبطن قَوٍ

    رُسوماً مِثلَ أسطارِ الكتابِ

    I knew the cure, so with a brave tribe

    I had markings like the lines of scripture

  2. فَبُرقة عاقلٍ أقوَت سنيناً

    فما بينَ الحنِادجِ فالهضابِ

    So an intelligent lightning strengthened years

    Between the gravel and the plateaus

  3. لِخولَة وهي بَهكنةٌ شموعٌ

    يُؤوِّدُ غُصنَها خمرُ الشبابِ

    For Khaulah, who is a glowing candle

    Whose branch is ripened by the wine of youth

  4. كانَّ رُضابها من بنت كَرم

    سُلافٌ زُوّجت بابن السَّحابِ

    Her buttocks were like the daughter of generosity

    Married to the son of clouds

  5. مُهَفْهفة القَواَم لها ابْتسام

    كإيماضِ البُروقِ من الرَّبابِ

    Swaying in figure, having a smile

    Like the twinkling of lightning from the hilltops

  6. إذا وَلّتْ رأيت لها ارِتجاجاً

    كما يرتجٌ مُلتطمْ العُبابِ

    When she turned, I saw her sway

    As a turbulent sea sways

  7. فَدعْ مالا انتفاعَ بِه لصَبٍّ

    يُغرَّر في إدّكارٍ وانتِحَابِ

    Leave what is of no benefit to a youth

    Deceived by conceit and withdrawal

  8. وقُلْ يا رُبَّ خاويةٍ نَآةٍ

    كَظهرِ الترس تَشرَقُ بالسَّرابِ

    And say, O Lord of an empty, bleating wilderness

    Like the back of a shield shining with mirage

  9. قطعتُ بأصَهبِ العُثنونِ ناجٍ

    نَجيبٍ من أناعيمٍ نجَابِ

    I cut through with the swords of 'Uthnun

    Noble, from the soft and delicate

  10. وماءٍ آِجن الجَمّات طامِ

    تُلفّعِهُ الخَدارِقُ باللُّعاب

    And water, whose surroundings are covered

    With the spittle of fermentation

  11. وَردْتُ وللذئاب عليهِ وَهناً

    بَرازيقٌ تجَاوبُ باصطِخابِ

    And I returned, while for the wolves there was

    Howling, conversing in distress

  12. وليلٍ مثلَ لون النيل داج

    لبستُ لنيلِ حاجاتٍ صعَاب

    And a night like the color of dark Nile

    I wore for the Nile of difficult wants

  13. ويومٍ مثلَ يومِ الحشرِ طُولاً

    طويتُ رِداهُ بالخودِ الكعابِ

    And a day like resurrection day in length

    I folded its garment in wrinkled old age

  14. أنا الملكُ الجَليلُ أباً ونفساً

    وليثُ الحرب في يومِ الضرابِ

    I am the magnificent king, father and self

    And lion of war on the day of clamor

  15. أنا ابن السابقينَ لكلَّ مَجدٍ

    وأربابِ الَمقانبِ والقِبابِ

    I am the son of those who preceded for all glory

    And lords of encampments and domes

  16. وقَدْ علمتْ مُلوكُ الأرضِ أني

    مَقرُّ الفخرِ والحسَبِ الُّلبابِ

    And the kings of earth knew that I

    Am settled pride and reason of intellect

  17. وَكمْ أغنْيتُ من عافٍ فقيرٍ

    فأصبحَ ذا جيادٍ مع رِكابِ

    And how many poor I enriched

    Who then had steeds and riders

  18. وَكم أخصبتُ من رَبعٍ مَحيلٍ

    فَأمسى وَهو مخضرُّ الجَنابِ

    And how many barren lands I fertilized

    Who then became green

  19. وَكمْ غادرْتُ من نجد جوادٍ

    طَعاماً للفَراعلِ والذئابِ

    And how many I left from Najd, generous

    Food for villains and wolves

  20. وَأوجلتُ القُلوب فليس قلبٌ

    من الأعداء ليس بذي اضطراب

    And I troubled the hearts, so no heart

    Of the enemies is without turmoil

  21. وَيومَ الظَّفر إذ جآءت عُمانٌ

    تعالى فوق سابحةٍ عِراب

    And the day of victory when Oman came

    Lofty above a swimming cloud

  22. كتائبُ تُشرقُ الخضراء نفعاً

    وتَترُكُ كلَّ جيشٍ في تبابِ

    Battalions shining brightly

    And leaving every army in ruins

  23. لقيتُهمُ بعزم غير نابِ

    وَزنْدٍ في الوقَائع غير كاب

    I met them with resolve without weakness

    And a sharp sword in battle without bending

  24. عَلى ذي مَيعةٍ عَبلٍ جوادٍ

    صَريحيّ الأرومة والنّصِاب

    On a noble, strong, generous steed

    My spear upright and sharp

  25. وفَي يُمناي أبيضُ مشرفيٌ

    طَليقُ الحدُ ماضِ كالشّهاِب

    And in my right a white honorable sword

    Keen edged, shooting like a meteor

  26. سَقيْتُهمُ بِه كأسَ المَنايا

    ولَلأشَقِين أجدَرُ بالعِقابِ

    I quenched them with the cup of death

    And for the wretched, more deserving of punishment

  27. وأُبتُ وقَد تَفلَّل شفرتَاهَ

    وَقدْ خضبتْ بنجعِهمُ ثِيابي

    And I refused while its two blades dripped

    And my clothes were dyed with their blood

  28. فَهلْ من مُبلِغٍ عني الأعادي

    مَقالاً ليسَ بالأفكِ الكِذاب

    Is there one to convey from me to the enemies

    Words that are not the lying fables

  29. بأنّ رِقابُهمْ تهوى حصاداً

    وسيفي فيه حاَجاتُ الرّقاب

    That their necks fall harvested

    And my sword fulfills the needs of necks

  30. يمين اللهِ أهجعُ أو أدعْكم

    فريساً للثعِالبِ والذّئابِ

    By God's right I subdue or leave you
