رقَّ خلق الزمان واعتدل الجوّ
اعتدالاً وخفَّ وزنُ الماءِ
Time’s disposition grew gentle, and the air turned mild;
perfectly temperate, while the weight of the water grew light.
وترى الأرض بعدما هرمت عادت
الى سنِّ كاعبٍ حسناءِ
And you see the earth, after she had grown old, return
to the age of a beautiful maiden in first bloom.
فتحارُ العيونُ في كلّ روضِ
نَسَجَت وَشيَهُ يدُ الانواءِ
Eyes stand bewildered in every meadow
whose brocade the hand of the rain-bearing stars has woven.
