وما كثرة التحقيق في العلم نافع

إذا لم يكن من بذره العمل المرضي

Excessive inquisition into knowledge is not beneficial,

If righteous action does not spring from its seed.

فإن انسكاب الغيث ليس بنافع

إذا كان وقع الماء في سبخ الأرض

For the outpouring rain is not beneficial,

If the water falls on barren land.
