يا بقعة حسر الجما

ل لدى معالمها لثامه

O spot of sorrow and beauty

With its features veiled

ومخيماً ضرب الكما

ل على مسارحه خيامه

And a camp pitched

Perfection erected its tents on its theaters

ومقام أنس بالنعيم

مذكراً دار المقامه

And a place of intimacy with bliss

Reminding of the abode of eternity

مأوى النقابة والنجا

بة والنباهة والصرامه

Shelter of chivalry, success

And vigilance, strictness

ومقيل أرباب النبا

هة والشهامة والفخامه

And a place for the people of

Glory, pride, and magnificence

وملاذ من عبثت به

أيدي الخصاصة والأصنامه

And a refuge from the hands

Of villainy and idols that toyed with it

يرنو بنفسجها إليك

بعين زرقاء اليمامه

Its violet aspires to you

With an aquamarine eye

ويدير نرجسها علينا

باليد البيضاء جامه

And turns its narcissus at us

With a white smooth hand

والطير ينفث بالغصو

ن رقي نقي لذغ السآمه

And the birds murmur in the branches

A delicate clear boredom relieving hum

وقويق يرشفنا على

ظمأ ارق من المدامه

And the creek sprinkles us

With a thirst quencher finer than wine

وتراه مخفوض الجنا

ح وربما أبدى غرامه

And you see it with bowed wings

Perhaps expressing its passion

وإذا كسته الريح در

عا سل من زهو حسامه

And if the wind dishevels it

It flows smoothly from the pride of a sword

فاللهو في جنباته

ملقي على طرف الثمامه

So playing in its sides

Cast on the edge of the priceless

والقصر فيه كأنه

صدر تفرد بالزعامه

And the palace in it is as if

It is the chest singled out with leadership

رفعت لمرتاد الهنا

شرفاته رفع العلامه

It raised its terraces to the frequenter an

Elevation raising the flag

حتى غدا وكأنه

في وجنة الشهباء شامه

Until it became as if it were

In the gardens of Shuhubah a protector

جمع النقيب المصطفى

للمجد عن بدء نظامه

The Chief Mustafa gathered

Glory from the start of its system

نسب أضاء كأنما

فلق الصباح له دعامه

A lineage that illuminated as if

The dawn opened a pillar for it

ومكارم نسخت بها

أخبار أوس وابن مامه

And virtues that transcribed

The chronicles of Aus and Ibn Mamah

وعزائم ترمي الأسو

د لها الفرائس عن زعامه

And resolves that hurl

The prey away from the grasp of predators

وغزير فضل كم شفي

من فيضه صاد أوامه

And copious grace that healed

Many ailments with its outpouring

أدب كويتي الروض

غب قطار أنداء الغمامه

The manners of Kuwaiti literature

A train of melodies from the clouds

يا محتد المجد الذي

ما فض منتقض ختامه

O holder of glory that

Has not diminished since its seal

كم نعمة لك في الرقا

ب كأنها طوق الحمامه

How many blessings for you in leadership

As if they are the ring of a pigeon

فليهنك القصر المشيد

بالسعادة والكرامه

So may the erected palace give you joy

With happiness and honor

متمتعاً بتعانق ال

إقبال فيه بالسلامه

Delighting in the embrace of

Fate in it safely
