سَقى اللَهُ أَطلالاً بِأَكثِبَةِ الحِمى
وَإِن كُنَّ قَد أَبدَينَ لِلناسِ ما بِيا
May God rain upon the ruins amid the dunes of al-Ḥimā,
though they have revealed to all what afflicts me—
مَنازِل لَو مَرَّت بِهِنَّ جَنازَتي
لَقالَ الصَدى يا حامِلَيَّ اِربَعا بِيا
dwellings which, if my funeral bier were to pass by them,
the echo would cry, “O my two bearers, halt here with me!”
