What a fine lad, for whose loss his brothers grieve

On the day of al-Baqee', midst the blows of fate's calamities,

Easy is the house to enter when its owner welcomes you in,

Open-handed, well-mannered servants in its surround,

And when you see his brother and his friend,

You know not, O kinsmen, which of the two to pity more.
