I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, for intoxication
One day its tipsiness and wooziness appeared to me
From a company whose calls we answered
Each thing forbidden, so they were not praised nor blamed
Until when the bodies bent over in their throats
From them foamy rotten flesh dripped
And the people rounded up and donned their turbans
So each forbidden thing raised its head high
I came asking her about her company
And I care not whether the people attended or were absent
She drew near to me and sweetened her talk
And frightened me and said some of what she felt
How can a Hijazi attain his desire
With any of the daughters of Qain their homes remote
