تَفرَّغَ لي دَهري فصيرّني شُغلاً

وَعوّضني مِن خصب روضتىَ المحلا

My time has become devoted to me, so it has made me busy

And compensated me from the fertility of my gardens a barren place

يُطالِبُ بالثأر النَبيلِ كَأَنَّما

يَرى النُبلَ منه بَينَ أَحشائه نَبلا

It seeks revenge from the noble one as if

It sees the nobility from it among its entrails, arrows
