أَلا قُل لِأبن بَغلٍ لا يُؤّذِن

فَيَبخَسَ ذِكرَ خالِقِهِ بِفيهِ

Come now, say to the mule's foal who does not glorify

So he diminishes the mention of his Creator with his mouth

إِذا ما كانَ في فَمِهِ كَنيفٌ

فَكَيفَ يَحلُّ ذِكرُ اللَهِ فيهِ

When there is a bit in his mouth

So how can the mention of God be permitted in it
