1. عِجِبتُ لِمَن يَرجو مَتاباً لِجاهِلٍ

    وَما عِندَهُ أَنَّ الذُنوبَ ذُنوبُ

    I wonder at one who hopes for repentance from an ignorant man

    Who does not believe that sins are really sins

  2. إِذا كانَ ذَنبُ المَرءِ لِلمَرءِ شَيمَةً

    وَلَم يَرَهُ ذَنباً فَكَيفَ يَتوبُ

    If a man's sin becomes his very nature

    And he does not see it as sin, how can he repent?
