أعوذ بك اللهم من فقر ساعة

أعوذ بك اللهم من فقر ساعة

كما بك من سوء الأذى نتعوَّذُ

كما بك من سوء الأذى نتعوَّذُ

I seek refuge in You, O God, from even an hour of poverty;

just as in You we seek refuge from the evil of wealth.

أرى كل شر كان في الفقر وحده

أرى كل شر كان في الفقر وحده

وذو الفقر لا يدرى إلى أين ينفذ

وذو الفقر لا يدرى إلى أين ينفذ

I see every evil lodged in poverty alone;

and the poor man does not know where he may end up.
