When a young man reaches seventy years
Zainab or Thumamah's beauty no more he fears
Rather, take off the clothes of play and folly
And wear the clothes of fear for Judgment Day
I came to you but you did not grant my wish
Yet your stars in righteousness remained steadfast
You issue verdicts on perplexing affairs
Never tiring of consultation and taking care
Your wisdom has no peer or equal
None contests you without soon feeling regret
Loyal to truth, piety and righteousness
Your words straightforward, no cause for upset
Your views like those of Abi Sa'eed
Your lineage like Abi Dulamah's indeed
