There is no good in man’s haste, o my confidence

At the wrong time, for fate has its commands

So also in desire, placed elsewhere

In every case, and this statement is understood

If you do not accord things their proper places

You do wrong, the matter is serious, desire blameworthy

So persistent praise of man’s haste

In generosity, when slowness is better
