أَكُلُّكُمْ يَزْجُرُكُمْ أَرْحِبْ هَلا
وَلَنْ تَرَوْهُ الدَّهْرَ إِلَّا مُقْبِلا
Does Arhab urge you all on with the cry “Hallā!”?
Never, for all time, will you see him save charging forward,
يَحْمِلُ زَغْفاً وَرَئِيساً حَجْفَلا
وَسائِلاً فِي أَهْلِهِ ما فَعَلا
bearing pliant mail and a formidable chieftain,
who asks among his people, “What have the two done?”
