1. لَعَمرُ أَبيكَ لِلخَيلُ المُوَطّى

    أَمامَ القَومِ لِلرَخمِ الوُقوعِ

    By the life of your father, horses yearn

    For open plains, to gallop free,

  2. أَحَقُّ بِكُم وَأَجدَرُ أَن تَصيدوا

    مِنَ الفُرسانِ تَرفُلُ في الدُروعِ

    You deserve, more than any, to hunt

    Knights gleaming in armored finery,

  3. إِذا اِصطادوا بُغاثا شَيَّطوهُ

    فَكانَ وَفاءَ شاتِهِمُ القُروعِ

    When they hunt partridges, they tease and chase,

    True to their hawks, obedient, duty-bound.
