Oh, who will tell my dear Khirash
News may reach you from afar
Or from one you don’t prepare
Shoes or food for when they are
Calling him to come and meet
But alas the Waleed was a fool
So he poured his cup out empty
Like tears streaming from his eyes
And he went without his love at dusk
As the black Syrian mountains loomed
Know, oh Khirash, the best emigrant
After leaving is one satisfied
For in seeking righteousness after me
You’re like perfumed wood - untrapped
