1. إِنّي اِمرُؤٌ لا يغولُ النَّأيُ لي خُلُقاً

    وَلا يُلائِمُني ذو مَلَّةٍ طَرِفُ

    I am a man whom solitude does not spoil his nature,

    Nor does the company of an ignoble suit me.

  2. وَكُلُّ كَربٍ وَإِن طالَت بَليتُهُ

    يَوماً تُفَرَّجُ غماهُ وَتَنكَشِفُ

    Every hardship, though protracted be its distress,

    Will one day get relieved and its gloom dispelled.
