لقد وافت الينا من حماكم

جليل الوكة دون انفضاضِ

She has come to us from courts of justice

An eminent judge without prejudice

فقمت لها على الاقدام شوقاً

لما تبديه من حسن التراضي

So I stood up for her eagerly

For the fairness she displays

ولمَّا افترَّ مبسمها وفاهت

باهداء السلام بلا انقباضِ

And when her smile shone through and she came

With greetings of peace without reservation

فرحت مقبّل الارضين شكراً

لحسن سماحكم عن كل ماضي

I was overjoyed, kissing the ground in thanks

For your kind forgiveness of all the past

فمثلكم يحقُّ ان يسمَّى

مسيحياً وذاك بلا اعتراضِ

The likes of you deserve to be called

Christian, that is beyond doubt

وممدوحاً ومحمود الثنا من

جميع الناس في كلّ الأراضي

And praised and lauded by all

People in all lands
