يا من يجيب دعوةَ المضطرِّ

أبدل إلهي عُسْرَنا باليُسْرِ

O You who answers the supplication of the distressed,

Replace our hardship with ease, my God.

الحمدُ للّه المجيبِ من دعا

وفاتحِ الْبَابِ لِعَبْدٍ قرعا

Praise be to Allah, the Responder to the supplicant,

And the Opener of doors for the knocking servant.

سبحانه من راحمٍ رحمانِ

تبارك اللّطيف من منّانِ

Glory be to the Most Merciful, the Compassionate,

Blessed is the Subtle One, the Beneficent.

مَنْ ذا الذي ما شَمَلَتْهُ رَحْمَتُهْ

وأيّ خلقٍ لم تَنَلْهُ مِنَّتُهْ

Who is spared from the reach of His mercy?

And which creature has not received His favor?

هو الذي مَنَّ بإرسال الحبيبِ

فيا سعادةَ المنيب المستجيبِ

He is the One who blessed us by sending the Beloved,

So what bliss for the repentant responder!

جعله نوراً به تُجْلَى الظُّلَمْ

وكَمْ لنا من نعمة به وَكَمْ

Make him a light by which darkness is dispelled,

And how much bounty we have through him, and how much!

نرجو به مَحْوَ ذنوبٍ كَثُرَتْ

ونَيْلَ إصلاحِ قلوبٍ فَسَدَتْ

We hope through him the erasure of abundant sins,

And the attainment of rectified hearts gone corrupt.

صلّى عليه اللّه مِنْ ذي جَاهِ

لم يَدْرِ ما مَعْنَاهُ غيْرُ اللَّهِ

Blessings upon him from the Lord of lofty station,

None knows its meaning but Allah.

وآلِه وصحبِه وكلِّ مَنْ

سار من الإِيمان في نهجٍ حَسَنْ

And his Family, Companions and all who

Have tread the path of faith in a good way.

صلاة مُدمِنٍ لقَرعٍ فَوَلَجْ

ونال من جدواه مأمولَ الفَرَجْ

The blessing of one devoted to knocking persistently,

And attained through his effort the hoped relief.

ثمّ بذاك الجاه والقدر الكبير

نسأل في شفا شيخنا البشير

Then by that great glory and ability,

We ask for the recovery of our Shaykh al-Bashir.

نسألك اللّهُمَّ كشفَ ضُرِّهِ

وبُرءَ سُقمه ونُجحَ أَمْرِهِ

We ask You, O God, to lift his harm,

And cure his illness and grant success in his matter,

واجْمَعْ له بين شفاء الجَسَدِ

ونيْلِهِ حُسْنَ الأجورِ في غَدِ

And combine for him the recovery of body

And his attainment of good reward in the morrow.

يا منجياً من غمّه ذا النّون

من بعد ما أشفى على المَنُونِ

O Savior from grief, He of the whale,

After He cured the possessed man.

وسامعَ الدّعاء من أيّوبَ

وراحماً بيوسُفٍ يعقوبَ

And Hearer of supplication from Ayyub,

And Merciful to Ya'qub in Yusuf.

ومُبْرِدَ النّارِ لإِبْرَاهيمَ

ومانِحَ التّنزيه للكَلِيمِ

And Cooler of fire for Ibrahim,

And Granter of deliverance to the Friend.

ومُسْرِياً بِسيْدِ الكُلِّ إلى

ما ليس يرجوه ذَوُو قَدْرٍ عَلاَ

And He who took His Master on the night journey,

To what those of high rank do not hope for.

جَلِّلْهُ يا رَبِّ ثيابَ العافية

وَهَبْ له نفحةَ خيرٍ وافية

Adorn him, O Lord, with the garb of wellness,

And bestow on him a wholesome grace.

وانفض فراشه على أيدي الشّفا

بحقّ ما في مُسْلِمٍ وفي الشّفا

And shake out his bedclothes through the hands of healing,

For the right of what is in Muslim and in al-Shifa.

يا ربِّ قد وَهَنتِ الْعِظَامُ

وأَنهكت قوّتها السِّقامُ

O Lord, the bones have become frail,

And the illness has exhausted their strength.

وغاب عنّا وجهُه لذاك

فصارت الدّنيا لنا أَحْلاَكَا

And his face has been veiled from us,

So the world has become desolate for us.

وأنت حَسْبَُ ذاك ليس إلاّ

فامْنُنْ علينا نِعْمَةً وفَضْلاَ

You alone suffice for that, none but You,

So bestow on us bounty and favor!

يا رَبَّنا اللّهُمَّ واشْفِ أُمَّنَا

زوجتَه التي حَوَتْ طيبَ الثَّنَا

O our Lord, O Allah, heal our mother,

His wife who was endowed with goodness and joy.

وعَافِها من كلّ ضُرٍّ وضَنَى

وفُكَّها من كلّ ضيقٍ وعَنَا

And grant her health from every harm and distress,

And relieve her of every constriction and affliction.

أطاعتِ الرَّحْمَانَ في بشيرِهِ

ووافَقَتْ رضاه في اُمُورِهِ

She obeyed the Merciful in her husband,

And agreed to His pleasure in his affairs.

فأصبحَتْ في حُلَلِ الرّضوانِ

رافلةً لَيْسَتْ كما النّسوانِ

So she came to wear the garments of contentment,

Floating, not like other women.

وهَبْ إلهي بعد ذا ذرّيّة

طيّبةً صالحةً مَرْضِيّة

And grant, my God, after this, righteous progeny,

Good, pious, pleasing.

تَرِثُ منه العلمَ والأسرارا

والحِكْمَةَ العَلْيَاءَ والأنوارا

Inheriting knowledge and secrets from him,

And lofty wisdom and lights.

سالكةً مسالكَ الصوفيّة

كارعة من عينها الصفيّة

Following the ways of Sufism,

Drinking from its pure spring.

يا واهباً يَحْيَى على وَهْنِ الْكِبَرْ

ومُتْحِفاً زَوْجَ الخَلِيلِ بِالبشَرْ

O Granter of John in old age and frailty,

And endower of the wife of the Friend with tidings.

وليس في أمر الإِله عَجَبُ

وهو لتحسين الرّجا مُسْتَوْجبُ

And there is no wonder in the command of God,

For He is worthy to respond to hope.

سألتُك اللّهمّ بالمختار

وآله وصحبه الأخْيَار

I asked You, O Allah, by the Elect One,

And his Family and righteous Companions.

ومُحرز ذاك الإِمامِ بنِ خَلَفْ

مَنْ جاء في التّقوى على هَدْي السَّلَفْ

And the protected, that Imam Ibn Khallaf,

Who emulated the guidance of the ancestors in piety.

بما أَنَلْتَهُ من المعارفِ

وما وَهَبْتَهُ من العوارِفِ

By what You endowed him with of knowledge,

And what You gave him of gifts.

وابن عروسٍ عِيبة الأسرارِ

ذي الحِكَمِ السّاطعةِ الأنوارِ

And the son of the bride of secrets,

Of brilliant wisdoms and shining lights.

كم نَبَّهَتْ بزجرها قلباً غَفَا

وكم شَفَتْ من واقفٍ على شفَا

How his warnings awakened a heedless heart!

And how he healed one standing on the brink!

وصاحب الإِمام مالك عليّ

ابن زيادٍ صاحب القَدْرِ الْعَلِيّ

And the companion of Imam Malik, Ali

The son of Ziyad, of lofty stature.

وجَاهِ تلك الدرّة المكنُونَة

عائشةَ السيّدةِ المصونة

And the authority of that hidden gem,

Aisha, the venerable, protected lady.

ذاتِ التصرّف الكبير القاهرِ

والسِّرِّ والنّورِ القويّ الظاهر

Of tremendous, powerful disposition,

And penetrating mystery and manifest light.

وجاء ليْثُ الغابِ مَنْصُورٌ وَمَنْ

نال من الأسرار فوق ما يُظَنّ

And the lion of the jungle, Mansur, came,

And all who attained of secrets beyond conception.

وسائِر الرّجال من أهل البَلَدْ

وكلِّ مَنْ كان له فيه مَدَدْ

And the rest of the men of the city,

And all who lent him support.

وأولياء اللّه في كلّ الجهاتِ

مَنْ قد أتى فيما مضى أو آتِ

And the saints of Allah in all places,

Those who came before or will come.

يا رَبِّ قدّمنا لَكَ الرّجالاَ

فلا تُخَيّبْ سيّدي الآمالا

O Lord, we presented You the men,

So do not disappoint, my Master, the hopes.

وقد دعوناك على اضْطِرارِ

منكّسي الرّؤوسِ والأبصارِ

And we called You in distress,

With heads and sights bowed down.

مستنجزين وَعْدَك المُوَفَّى

وكارعين وِرْدَه المُصَفّى

Seeking fulfillment of Your promised word,

And attaining His filtered drink.

أَغِثْ أَغثْ أَنت مُغِيثُ المستَغيثْ

فما لنا سِوَاك يا رَبِّ مُغِيثْ

Come to our aid, come to our aid! You are the Aider of the seeker of aid,

For we have none but You, O Lord, O Aider!

واغْفِر إلهي للجميع ما سَلَفْ

وامْنُنْ على الكلِّ بإِسْكَانِ الْغُرَفْ

And forgive, my God, all that is past,

And favor all with the inhabitation of chambers.

وأَنِجحِ المَقَاصِدَ الجميعا

ويَسِّر الصَّعْبَ لنا سريعا

And facilitate all purposes,

And make difficult ease for us swiftly!

ويَسْاَلُ النَّاظِمُ إبراهيمُ

مَحبَّةً بذكرها يَهِيمُ

And the composer Ibrahim

Seeks affectionately to be mentioned.

والعطفَ من شيخ الوفا البشيرِ

والْجَمْعَ في اليقظة بالبشير

And kindness from the Shaykh of loyalty, al-Bashir,

And gathering in wakefulness with al-Bashir.

صلّى وسلّم عليه اللّهُ

ما لا يَفِي الْعَدُّ بِمُنْتَهاهُ

Blessings and peace be upon him from Allah,

Beyond what number can encompass.

وآلِهِ الأشرافِ والأصحابِ

وكلِّ مَنْ يُعَدُّ في الأحْبَابِ

And his noble Family and Companions,

And all considered among the loved ones.
