صاحِ ارْكَبِ العزمَ لا تُخْلِدْ إلى اليأس

واصْحَبْ أخا الحزم ذا جِدٍّ إلى فاس

O companion, mount determination, do not surrender to despair

And accompany the brother of resolve, seriousness towards Fez

واشْرَح متونَ صباباتي لِجيرتها

وحَيِّ حَيًّا بهم قد كان إيناسي

And explain the texts of my passions to their neighbors

And enliven the living with them as Ibn Einassi was

واقْرَا السّلام على تلك المعاهد مِنْ

حَيْرَانَ تلفظه ناسٌ إلى نَاسِ

And convey greetings to those schools from

Hayran where people pronounce to people

وقُلْ لهم ذلك المضنى وحَقِّكُمُ

باقٍ على العهد ذو وَجْدٍ بكم رَاسِ

And tell them that the meaning and your right

Is still committed, with fervor towards you, the head

لا يُبْصِرُ الحُسْنَ إلاَّ في وجوهِكُمُ

وليس يجنح في حبٍّ لوَسواسِ

Beauty is seen only in your faces

And nothing else provokes love except whispers

وعُجْ إلى حيثُ مَنْ عَيْنِي لفُرْقته

تبكي وتَزْفَرُ بالأشواقِ أنفاسي

And hurry where my eyes, if we parted

Weep and sigh with yearning, my breaths

ومَنْ أنا فيه هَيْمانٌ يقّلبني

دهري بأنواع تهيامي وأجناس

And who I am confused turns me over

My lifetime with types of my madness and races

ومَنْ فؤادي به مُضْنًى يحمّلني

ما بعضه دُكّ منه الشّامخُ الرّاسي

And who my heart is grieved, loads me

Some of which a lofty mountain was flattened

ذاك الذي نال ما لم يِحْوِه بشَرٌ

من العَطايا ولم يُعرف بمقياس

That one who got what no human attained

Of grants and was not known by any measure

غَوْثُ البرايا أبو العبّاس أحمدُ مَنْ

معناه أعظمُ أن يُجْلَى بقرطاس

Succor of prairies, Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad who

His meaning is greatest to be recorded on paper

روحُ الوجود وقُطبُ الكون مركزه

مُمِدُّه سرّه الساري إلى النّاس

Spirit of existence, hub of the universe, his center

His secret flows to the people

رمزُ الوجود وسِرُّ الحقّ طَلْسَمُه

مكنونُه كنزه المَخْفِي بحرّاس

Symbol of existence, secret of truth, his talisman

His treasure, hidden with guards

حقيقة الكون معنى السِّرِّ مُجْمِعُه

فَيْضُ الإِلهِ بلا لَبْسٍ ولا باس

Reality of universe, meaning of secret, his assembly

Overflow of God without clothes or robe

أعني التجانيَّ تاجَ العارفين ومَنْ

بسابغ الفضل مِنْ عرفانه كاسي

I mean Al-Tajani, crown of the gnostics and who

With perfect grace is clothed from his knowledge

ومَنْ محبّتُه دِيني وخِلَّتُه

عقلي وروحي وجُلاّسي وأحداسي

And whose love is my religion and his company

My mind, my soul, my sitting companion and my intimates

ومسمعي وفؤادي وانبساطُ يدي

ومُقْلتي ولساني بين جُلاّسي

And my hearing, my heart, the opening of my hand

My speech and my tongue among my sitting companions

يا سامعي إنْ تكنْ للسِّرِّ ذا ظَمَإٍ

فَجِئْى لأَِحمدَ ساقي السّرِّ بالكأسِ

O listener, if you thirst for the secret

Come to Ahmad, cupbearer of the secret with a cup

رِدْ وِرْدَهُ العذْبَ واستنشِقْ روائحَه

تَظْفَرْ بأعطارِ ذاك الورد والآس

Return his sweet blossom and inhale his scents

You will succeed with the perfume of that rose and myrtle

واستَعْمَلِ الْجِدَّ في تحصيل واجِبِهِ

إنْ لم تكن في بِسَاطِ القُرْبِ ذا ياس

And use effort to attain the duty

If you are not in the carpet of proximity, desperate

واهْرَعْ إليه إذا ما كُنْتَ ذَا ظَمَإٍ

واسْرِعْ إلى اللّه مَشَّاءً على الرّاس

And rush to him if you are thirsty

And hasten to God brisk, with raised head

وانهَضْ فقد لاح للإِسعادِ طالعُهُ

وقُمْ ولا تَكُ للإِسعاد بالنّاسِي

And get up, do not be forgetful of prosperity among people

And take off the darkness over a heart you were prevented with

واخلّعْ ظلاماً على قلبٍ مُنِعْتَ به

أن تستضيءَ من المعنى بنبراسِ

To be illuminated by the meaning with a lamp

The hand of prophethood composed without a base

And what do you think of a curriculum, for its wayfarer

وما تظنّ بمنهاجٍ لسالكه

أمْناً مِنَ أهْوَالِ نيرَانٍ وأرماس

Safety from horrors of fires and battlements

My Lord, I call you by the greatest name

يا ربِّ أَدْعُوك بالأَسْمَا وأَعْظمِهَا

وأَعْظَمِ الرُّسْلِ ذي الإِحسان والبأس

And the greatest messengers of benevolence and might

Hamza, Ali, and his son Hasan

وحمزةٍ وعليّ وابنه حَسَنٍ

مع الحُسَين وزهراءٍ وعبّاسِ

With Hussein, Zahra, and Abbas

Make my necklace in his fingers

اجْعَلْ قلادة جيدي في أصابعه

وارْحَمْ به قلبِيَ المُضنَى به القاسي

And have mercy by him on my grieved heart, the cruel

And send by hearing the verse, a mercy

وَابْعَثْ له عند سمع النّظم مرحمةً

تنفي عليّ شَقَاوَاتِي وإفلاسي

That removes my distresses and bankruptcy

And make my composition, even if its joints

وَاجْعَلِْ نِظَامي وإن نالت مَفَاصِلُه

إلاّ به أَرتجي مَحْواً لأرجاسي

Attained except by him, I hope erasing my burdens

And make his abode safety, for there is no safety

وَعُمَّ مثواه تسليماً فليس سوى

تسليمِ ذاتك كُفْءَ القُطب في النّاس

Except surrendering yourself equal to the hub among people
