All existence is the target of fate's arrow,

A decree that has run its course even on rulers.

How can permanence be when all things perish,

For a dweller in an abode that is without permanence?

So do good for yourself that you may find

When people awake from their slumber of heedlessness.

And shake off your hands from this house which

Has enchanted with dreams those lost in dreams.

It is the house that admonished you, and admonition suffices you,

The death of knowledge and the displacement of signs.

Look at this tomb and what it contains

Of a knowing scholar and an overflowing sea.

An ocean of verification whose pearls

Were threaded by the necks of cranes of pens.

A treasure of precision - how much fine jewelry in it

Of figurines of jurisprudence and judgments.

This imam Hussein, the flag of knowledge that

Ordered piety and knowledge - what system!

O gathering of two seas! O burnoose of one

Who left a light in the darkness of ignorance!

You were the lamp of guidance and its morning

And the beauty of the face of the days' assemblies.

If you are absent from the eyes' sight, still

You remain among the hearts in the most precious place.

May you be congratulated for what you left of gratitude and what

You presented as provision for attaining hopes.

No wonder that death may find virtue, and in

Its date this felicity reached its conclusion.
