1. العزّ باللّه للسّلطان محمودِ

    ابن السّلاطين محمودٍ فمحمودِ

    Glory to God for Sultan Mahmud

    Son of sultans, Mahmud, so glorified

  2. خليفةِ اللّه ما أعلاه من شَبَهٍ

    بآدم ونبيّ اللّهِ داوود

    God's caliph - none higher in renown

    Than Adam and prophet of God, David

  3. من آل عثمانَ ساداتِ الملوكِ ومَنْ

    جاؤوا كعقدٍ من الياقوت منضود

    Of the Ottomans, lords of kings and those

    Who came like necklaces of ruby endowed

  4. سادوا الأنام وشادوا الدين وافتتحوا

    مِنْ كلّ ما فيه خَيْرٌ كُلَّ مسدود

    They ruled people and upheld the faith and opened

    All that is good, each door once closed

  5. هُمُ السلاطين ما ذرّت ولا غربت

    شمسٌ على مثلهم في نصر توحيد

    They are sultans, never has sun declined or set

    On likes of them in victory of God's unity

  6. وجاء سلطانُنا المحمود بَعْدَهُمُ

    بكلّ رأي من الآراء مسعود

    And our Sultan Mahmud came after them

    With every splendid thought applauded

  7. وربّما جهل الإِنسانُ مقصدَه

    فجاء فيه بِقَوْلٍ غَيْرِ مقصود

    Yet man may oft misjudge his purpose

    And speak of him in ways misunderstood

  8. لم يُعْطِهِ اللّه ملكا في خليقته

    إلاّ لمعنىً من الأغيار مفقود

    God granted him no rule o’er creation

    Save for some higher reason obscured

  9. دانت لدولته الأعناقُ خاضعةً

    من كلّ ذي والِدٍ منهم ومولود

    Necks bowed submissive to his reign

    All fathers and sons in obeisance accrued

  10. تخشى السلاطينُ من بُعْدٍ بَوَادِرَهُ

    لِمَا له من جلالٍ غَيْرِ مجحود

    Far sultans dread but whispers of his feats

    For his mighty awe leaves no applause withheld

  11. وكلُّ باشا وإن جلّت مكانتُه

    فليس غير فتىً في الرقّ مصفود

    Each high Bashaw, though lofty his station

    Is but a slave in fetters clasped and sealed

  12. يا عزّ دين الهدى إن يخش منقصة

    بكلّ قَرْمٍ من الإِسلام صنديد

    O glory of the faith, if any disparage

    Islam entire, with each battalion and brigade

  13. وقوة من لدن ربّ العلا بهرت

    برّاً وبحراً بنظمٍ غير معهود

    Whose might from the Lord of Majesty dazzled

    By land and sea in ways beyond all precedent

  14. الْعُجْمُ تشهدها والعُرْبُ تعلمها

    شرقاً وغرباً من البيضان والسّود

    The non-Arabs witness it, Arabs acknowledge

    East and west, from blacks to whites communed

  15. أنت المُذِلُّ لِعُبّادِ الصّليب وإن

    لوى الزّمان بإنجازٍ لموعود

    You who humbled the heathen hordes

    Though times may twist what was divined

  16. لا يُخْلِفُ اللّهُ في نَصْرٍ مَوَاعِدَهُ

    لكن إلى أجلٍ في العلم معدود

    God never breaks his promised victory

    But only postpones till a date foreseen

  17. أنت المُؤَمَّلُ في كلّ المُهِمِّ فمَنْ

    أتى لبابك قصداً غيرُ مطرود

    In you all hopes in each travail convene

    None spurned who comes seeking your threshold

  18. وقد أَتَيْتُكَ من أقصى البلاد وفي

    ظنّي الجميل بلوغي منك مقصودي

    From far lands I came, and I envisioned

    My goal in you, my purposeIPE

  19. دامت معاليك للإِسلام مَرْحَمَةً

    وللطُّغَاةِ عذاباً غَيْرَ مردود

    Long may your grace shelter Islam

    And rain torment without remit on tyrants rude

  20. بِحُرْمَةِ المصطفى أهدى الإِلاهُ له

    أزكى تحِيَّتِهِ من غير تحديد

    By the sanctity of the Chosen Guide

    To him most purely greetings accorded

  21. تَعُمُّ أتباعَه في الدين قاطبةً

    والخلفاءَ الى السلطان محمود

    Enveloping his followers in religion entire

    And the caliphs to Sultan Mahmud
