  1. حتى متى عنا تصدّ وتعرض

    هلا إلى نفحاتنا تتعرّض

    How long will you turn away and ignore us?

    Why not let yourself be captivated by our charms?

  2. إن كان أعياك السقام وطبّه

    فألجأ إليّ أنا الطبيب الممرض

    If ill health has weakened you, and you need a cure,

    Then come to me, for I am the healing physician.

  3. أقدم علينا يا جبان فكم ترى

    متوانياً في وعر غيك تركض

    Approach us, O coward! How long will you

    Hesitate and trudge through harsh terrain?

  4. أو ليس قد راشت جناحك أنعم

    منا فما لك نحونا لا تنهض

    Have we not sheltered you under our wings?

    Why then do you not rise up and come to us?

  5. انزل بساحتنا ولذ بجنابنا

    فنزيل حضرة عزنا لا يرفض

    Descend into our abode and enjoy our company,

    For a guest of our noble dwelling is never rejected.

  6. ما حل ساحتنا أناس أعرضوا

    عنا فلاذوا بالرضا إلا رضوا

    None who entered our court then shunned

    Us, except they found acceptance and pleasure.

  7. رفضوك إذ ألفوك غداراً وقد

    سدوا سبيل الوصل عنك وأعرضوا

    They rejected you for being treacherous, and

    Closed off the path of connection from you.

  8. سبقوك فيما تدعيه وأعملوا

    كرّ المطايا نحونا وتفوضوا

    They surpassed you in what you claim,

    And raced their steeds passionately towards us.

  9. سهروا ونمت وإنهم مذ ودعوا

    فينا لذيذ منامهم ما غمضوا

    Awake they remained while you slept.

    Since parting from us, no sweet slumber have they known.

  10. ورضيت ويحك حالة لا ترتضى

    فصحيفة سودا وفودٌ أبيض

    Yet you were content, alas, with an unacceptable state!

    A black mark indeed, despite delegations of whiteness.

  11. لهم الأساة فناد في عرصاتهم

    أضحى ببابكم العليل فمرّضوا

    Theirs are the steeds; call out in their dwellings:

    "Your ailing visitor is at your door, so tend to him!"
