1. أذكت بأحناء الضلوع أوارا

    ورقٌ ترجع شدوها أسحارا

    The embers in my ribs were rekindled

    By leaves whose chirping recalled enchantments

  2. سجعت فهيّجَ سجعُها مستعيراً

    يشجى بشجو بكائه الأطيارا

    Their rhyme aroused an echo borrowing flame

    Lamenting with grief that brought the birds to tears

  3. لمّا تذكّر عهد أيام مضت

    أجرت دموع شؤونه أنهارا

    When it recalled the era of days gone by

    Its tears of longing flowed in rivers

  4. يبكى ويندب ربع عمر قد عفا

    لم يقض في ساحاته أوطارا

    Weeping and grieving for a life now past

    That left no trace in the plains it traversed

  5. متثبثاً بعسى وعلّ لعلّه

    أن يدرك الركب الذي قد سارا

    Clinging to a staff, hoping against hope

    To catch up with the caravan that marched ahead

  6. لما انقضت أيامه وتصرمت

    وأديلَ من إيراده إصدارا

    When its days came to pass and it grew old

    And income from efforts began to wane

  7. ودعابه داعى الرحيل ولم يجد

    من عمره عوناً ولا أنصارا

    The call of departure summoned it, but found

    No help or comrades from its life's work

  8. لم يلف فيما يرتجيه مؤمّلا

    يشفى السقام ويطرد الأفكارا

    It sought no comfort for its suffering

    Or cure for its pain and anxious thoughts

  9. إلا امتداح الهاشمي وصحبه

    فبذاك يجنى للسعود ثمارا

    Except praising Al-Hashimi and his comrades

    For through them the glories of Saud bear fruit

  10. فارتاح للأمداح ينظم درّها

    في جيد مجد علائهم أشعارا

    So it found peace praising them in verse

    In eulogies glorifying their noble name

  11. فلتستمع يا صاح ذكر مناقب

    قد فاق عرفُ ذكائها الأزهارا

    Listen, my friend, to virtues recited

    That surpass the fields of flowers in fragrance

  12. فمحمد شمس المفاخر والعلا

    والصحب أضحوا حوله أقمارا

    For Muhammad is the sun of all glory

    And his comrades are the orbiting moons

  13. نسقوا كما نسقت دراري الأفق في

    فلك المجرة فاعتلوا أبدارا

    Aligned like the Pleiades in the galaxy's dome

    Ascending with pride to celestial heights

  14. من كل ندبٍ في المكارم معرقٍ

    يكسو بغرته الدجى أنوارا

    Adorned in every virtue with ornaments

    Robing the darkness in illuminating gowns

  15. حلو الشمائل طاب ذكر ثنائه

    وحكى أقاحاً نشره وبهارا

    Fair of manner, famed for praise and story

    That spreads like fields of blossoms in spring

  16. أضواء مجد شامخات في العلا

    كرموا فسادوا محتداً ونجارا

    Lights of glory lofty in the firmament

    They were generous, building and carpentry

  17. طبعت على طبع النبي طباعهم

    فتطوروا في فضلها أطوارا

    Their nature imprinted with the Prophet's nature

    Progressing through his grace in every phase

  18. فالأوحد الصديق أول ماجد

    أسدى النوال وآثر الإيثارا

    The uniquely devout, the first conqueror

    Bestowed bounty and preferred selflessness

  19. لما تخلّل في العباءة مؤثرا

    للبذل فاق ببره الأبرارا

    When he crept into the robe as an honor

    His righteousness surpassed the righteous ones

  20. هو صاحب المختار في أزماته

    ثانيه يوم ثوى فحل الغارا

    He was the chosen companion in his ordeals

    The second by his side in the cave's refuge

  21. عدد علا الفاروق واذكر فضله

    فبه منار هدى الأنام أنارا

    Recite the lofty virtues of the Clear-Sighted One

    For through him the guiding light shone for mankind

  22. للحق جرّد صارما يفرى الطلى

    فاستفتح الأقطار والأمصارا

    He unsheathed his sword for the truth

    Vanquishing lands and nations alike

  23. وهو المحدّثُ بالغيوب وقلبه

    قد أودع اللَه به أسرارا

    He whose heart Allah entrusted with mysteries

    Of the unseen world and all it contains

  24. وامدح شهيد الدار عثمان الذي

    لزم الحياءَ مهابة ووقارا

    And praise the martyr of the house, Uthman

    Who clung to bashfulness and dignity

  25. ولطالما لبس الظلام تهجداً

    والدمع يهمى سحُّهُ مدرارا

    Many a night he wore the darkness in vigil

    With tears flowing copiously from his eyes

  26. كتب العلاء سطور فخر خلاله

    فاقرأ بها متنزها أخبارا

    The scholars wrote lines extolling his virtues

    So read them and learn of his noble chronicled tales

  27. واذكر إماما خلّصت أوصافه

    نقدا فراق نضارها النظارا

    Recall the Imam whose qualities

    Refined his mettle, piercing and sharp

  28. أعنى أبا الحسن ابن عم محمد

    صهر النبي الفارس الكرارا

    I mean Abu al-Hasan the cousin

    Of Muhammad, the fierce attacking knight

  29. أسد الحروب إذا الفوارس في الوغى

    هزوا القواضب والقنا الخطارا

    The lion of battle when the horsemen

    Wielded spears and the brave flexed bowstrings

  30. وكذا حذيفة ثم سعد والزبي

    ر لدين أحمد أصبحوا أنصارا

    And likewise Khudhayfa, Sa’d, and Zubayr

    The helpers of religion, Ahmad’s comrades

  31. وأبا عبيدة وابن عوفٍ فامتدح

    وسعيد قد حازوا الكمال فخارا

    Abu Ubaydah, Ibn ‘Awf and Suwayd

    All who attained glory and pride

  32. كن لائذاً بذرا الصحابة كلهم

    فلهم بنانُ المعلوات أشارا

    Seek refuge in the seeds of all companions

    For they are the pillars of glorious deeds

  33. ولتفن عمرك في امتداح علائهم

    تجنى المحامد في غد مختارا

    Let your life pass in praising their virtues

    Reaping tomorrow the chosen praise

  34. وإلى مغان شرفت بوجودهم

    فاقطع بحث اليعملات قفارا

    And to the cups made sacred by their presence

    Cease the barren search in arid deserts

  35. فهم البدور إذا عدمت أهلةً

    وهم الشموس إذا فقدت نهارا

    For they are the full moons when lacks crescents

    The suns when daylight hours are missed

  36. أصحابُ أحمد كالنجوم لمهتد

    يهدى بنور هداهمُ من حارا

    Ahmad's comrades are stars for one guided

    Lit by his guiding light when paths are unclear

  37. فبأحمد وبآله وبصحبه

    طلعت شموس سنا الكمال جهارا

    Through Ahmad, his family, and companions

    Suns of perfection's glory rose undimmed

  38. للَه أعلام لهم ومعاهد

    بانت وأذكت في الجوانح نارا

    For them were standards raised and covenants pledged

    Fires ignited and flared in souls and minds

  39. باللَه يا ريح الصبا سحراً إذا

    ما زرتِ من مغنى الحبيب ديارا

    By Allah, O morning breeze, greet at dawn

    The dwellings of the beloved you visit

  40. فلتبلغى عنى تحية مغرم

    بجوى البعاد فواده قد طارا

    Convey my longing lover's greeting

    Whose heart has fluttered off in remoteness

  41. يا ربّ بالمختار يسر زورة

    تمحو بها الآثام والأوزارا

    O Lord, make easy by the Chosen One a visit

    To wipe away sins and unbind fetters

  42. واعطف على العبد الذليل بنظرة

    فإلى عبيدك لم تزل نظّارا

    And show kindness to this lowly servant with a glance

    For to Your servants You've always been Watchful
