عن الناس لا تسأل ولا عن فعالهم

وعن كل ما يعنيك يا صاح فاسأل

Do not ask about people or their deeds,

And about all that concerns you, O friend, then ask.

ومل عن جميع الناس لا تقر بنهم

وخذ عنهم في معزل أي معزل

And do not settle with all people in what they have,

And take from them in isolation, any isolation.

وكن صامتا إلا بخير وحكمة

وأمر بمعروف ونهي لمعضل

And be silent except with goodness and wisdom,

Ordering good and forbidding difficulties.

وخذ من علوم الدين حظا وموفرا

وعلمه للجهال لله واعمل

And take from the sciences of religion a share and abundance,

And teach it to the ignorant for the sake of God and act.

وكن نائبا عن خاتم الرسل إنه

أمر نحن بالتبليغ عنه فحصل

And be the deputy of the Seal of Messengers; he

Ordered us to convey on his behalf so accomplish.

وليس على الإنسان ان يعملوا به

وليس عليك إلا البلاغ فأوصل

And it is not upon the people that they act upon it,

And it is not upon you except to convey so communicate.

الأهل محب للحبيب محمد

يبلغ عنه شرعه كل جاهل

The family's lover of the beloved Muhammad

Conveys his law to every ignorant one.

وإن كان ذا سيف فيسلل سيفه

ويحملهم قهرا لشرع المفضل

And if he has a sword then he unsheathes his sword

And carries them by force to the law of the Preferred.

والأفلا أدنى من القول بالتي

هي أحسن فاعلم ما أقول وأفعل

And the lowest is less than saying that

Which is best so know what I say and do.

فكل عليه ما يطيق لفعله

وإلا بقلب ذاك أسفل منزل

For each is upon him what he can do,

Otherwise with that heart lower abode.

تأمل لما قال النبي في وداعه

بحجته فاعمل عليه وعول

Contemplate what the Prophet said in his farewell

With his argument so act upon it and depend.

وكن شاكرا لله قلبا وقالبا

لتعطي مزيدا من كريم ومن ملي

And be thankful to God inwardly and outwardly

To give you more bounty from The Generous and Owner.

وسلم لأمر الله في كل ما قضى

وفي كل حال من خفي ومن جلي

And submit to God’s command in all that He decreed,

And in every state of hidden and open.

وكن بقضاء الله ربك راضيا

تفوز برضوان بدنيا وآجل

And be with God’s decree, your Lord, pleased,

To win the good pleasure in life and postponed.

ومن سخط المقدور يجزي بسخطه

وحكم القضا يجري بعال وسافل

And whoever disapproves the foreordained will be requited with their disapproval

And the judgement runs in the high and low.

سواء سخطت أم رضيت وإنما

يفوت الثواب في عوالي المنازل

Whether you disapprove or consent, and only

Will miss the reward in the high degrees.

وكن ذا ذاكرا لله في كل لحظة

فتجزي بذكر الله في خير محفل

And be remembering God every instant

So you will be rewarded with God’s remembrance in the best gathering.

ولا تنسه سبحانه جل ذكره

فتنس وتقرن باللعين كما تلي

And do not forget Him glory to His mention

And be associated with the accursed as recited.

ولا تسأل إلا الله في كل حاجة

ولا ترج إلا الله تمسي له ولي

And do not ask except God for every need

And do not hope except in God you live to Him and ally.

ولا تخش إلا الله في كل مؤلم

وخذ باليقين في الأمور لتعتلي

And do not fear except God for every affliction

And take with certainty in matters to ascend.

ولا تطلب إلا الله في كل مطلب

تنل فوق مطلوبك وهمك ينجلي

And do not seek except God for every desire

To attain above your request and worry to disappear.

ولا تستعن إلا به أيهاالفتى

تعلق به تظفر بعز أماثل

And do not seek help except through Him O youth

Holding to Him you succeed with mighty pride.

فلو أن كل الخلق راموا ضرورة

بشخص ولا شيء عليه من العلي

For if all the creation wanted to definitely harm

A person and nothing upon him from The Most High.

لردوا وعادوا خائبين جميعهم

كذلك في الخير فكن ذا توكل

They would return and retreat, all disappointed,

Likewise in good so be of reliance.

فنسأله سبحانه ان يقيمنا

على سنة الهادي لنا خير مرسل

So we ask Him glory to Him to keep us

Upon the Sunnah of the Guide to us best Messenger.

ويختم لنا بالخير عند مماتنا

وغفران للميت وحي ومقبل

And conclude for us with goodness when we die

And forgiveness for the deceased, alive and coming.

ويكفي جميع الشر فضلا ومنة

ويحفظنا كل ضر وجاهل

And suffice all harm especially and blessing

And protect us from every harm and ignorant.

وصلى إلهي كل حين وساعة

وسلم ماهبت رياح الشمائل

And my God pray every instant and moment

And bless as the winds blew traits.

على أحمد المختار والآل كلهم

وأصحابه الغر الكرام الأماثل

Upon Ahmad the Chosen and progeny all of them

And his companions: neighbors, noble and peers.

ولله ربي الحمد والشكر والثنا

على نعم لم يحصها قول قائل

And to God my Lord praise and thanks and extol

Upon blessings not counted by any sayer.
