جاء الفرج مره من غير ماحسبان

جاء الفرج كله رحمه من الرحمن

Relief came once unexpectedly

Relief came all mercy from the Merciful

جاء الفرج عاجل منا من المنان فضلا

وإحسانا من ربنا الحنان

Relief came urgently from the Benevolent, graciously

And kindly from our Lord the Tender

فالحمد لك يارب يادائم الإحسان كم قد

كفى ربي من حاسد شنآن

So praise be to You, O Lord, Ever-Merciful, how much

My Lord sufficed me from an envious enemy

وكم كفى أعدا بفضله الهتان يظهر محاسنا

ويستر العصيان

And how much He sufficed the hostile with His bounty, conspicuous

And covers disobedience

يخفى قبائحنا والزور والبهتان نسألك

ياستار كما سترت الآن

He hides our ugliness, lies and slander, we ask You

O Concealer, as You have concealed now

تديم هذا الجود يا ذا الكرم يامان

ذا فصل والثاني أوصيك ياإنسان

To perpetuate this generosity, O Most Generous, O Refuge

Of grace, and the second I advise you, O human

خذ من علوم الدينب شيأ عظيم الشان

واعمل به تنجو غدا من النيران

Take from the sciences of religion something supreme

And act upon it to be saved tomorrow from the fires

واسلك إلى ربك سلوك ذي الإحسان

واطلب حلال القوت وكسوة الأبدان

And walk to your Lord the walk of beneficence

And seek lawful livelihood and clothing for the body

وعادنا أوصيك احذر من الهذيان

واترك جميع الناس انسيهم والجان

And again I advise you, beware of raving

And leave all people, forget them and the jinn

وكن جليس الله بالذكر والقرآن

وكن سليم البال من سائر الأدران

And be a companion of God in remembrance and the Quran

And be of sound mind from all else

واصمت وكن خامل

في هذه الأزمان

And be silent and still

In these times

زمان كله جور فيه الفتن أفنان الخير به

كاسد يرونه خسران

Times that are all tyranny, manifold tribulations in it

Goodness in it is stagnant, they see it as loss

والشربه نافق يباع بالميزان فابعد ومل عنهم

بعيدهم والدان

And evil in it the hypocrite sells by weight, so avoid

And retreat far from them both

واعن بما يعنيك بالقلب والأركان

تحمد عند الموت والدرج في الأكفان

And be concerned with what concerns you inwardly and outwardly

You'll be praised when dying and shrouded

ياحافظ احفظنا واحفظ لنا الإيمان

واغفر لنا الأوزار والإفك والعصيان

O Protector protect us and protect faith for us

And forgive us burdens, slander and disobedience

واختم لنا بالخير عند انقضا الأحيان

ببركة الهادي سيد ولد عدنان

And conclude for us with good at the end of times

By the blessing of the Guide, the master of `Adnan's sons

عليه صلى الله والآل والخلان

مع سلام الله ماسارت الركبان

Upon him Allah's prayers and upon his family and companions

With Allah's greetings as long as caravans travelled

والحمدلله الواحد الرحمن

And praise be to Allah, the One, the Merciful
