يا هاشم بن شيخ بن هاشم

وصل كتابك نعم ذاك الكتاب

O Hashim son of Sheikh Hashim

Your letter has arrived, yes that letter

فنسأل الرحمن من فضله

يوفق الكل سبيل الصواب

We ask the Most Merciful of His bounty

To guide all to the path of righteousness

ويرشد الكل لما يرتضي

منا ويرزقنا بغير حساب

And guide all to what He approves

Of us and provide for us without account

فلا نرى بؤسا ولا محنة

في يومنا هذا ويوم المآب

So we see no misery or affliction

In our day, this day and the day of return

يا رب يا رحمن يا ربنا

نسألك تهدينا لحسن المتاب

O Lord, O Merciful, our Lord

We ask You to guide us to goodness and repentance

فقد كثر يا ربنا ذنبنا

وقد تعرضنا به للعقاب

For our sins have increased, our Lord

And we are liable for punishment

وما لنا منجى سوى عفوكم

فمن به يا من له العفو داب

We have no refuge but Your pardon

So pardon, O You Who pardons the fugitive

واهدنا نسلك سبيل الهدى

سبيل طه ذي الدعاء المجاب

And guide us to follow the path of guidance

The path of Taha of answered prayers

عليه صلى الله في كل حين

وما حدا أحاديث الركاب

Upon him be God's blessings at all times

And the rumors of the rumor mongers
