  1. إليك المعذرة يا عالم الحال

    من الأفعال والأقوال والحال

    I beg your pardon, O world of the present

    For deeds, words, and states

  2. فأنت أعلم بما قد كان مني

    بتحقيقه وتفصيله والأجمال

    You know best what I have done

    In detail, summary, and generalities

  3. فيا من قد سترني جد بعفو

    وغفران وإحسان وأفضال

    So O You who has veiled me, be gracious

    With pardon, forgiveness, favor, and grace

  4. فأنت المرتجى في كل حال

    إليك الملتجى في المر والحال

    For You are the hope in every state

    To You I flee in ease and tribulation

  5. وياحنان يلمنان يامن

    علينا فضله صيب وهطال

    O Tender, Gentle One, O He

    Whose bounty upon us pours and flows

  6. إليك أشكو من أوزاري وذنبي

    فلست أشكو إلى عم ولا خال

    To You I complain of my sins and wrongs

    I do not complain to a relative or in-law

  7. ولا خلق قريب أو بعيد

    ولا قاض ولا سلطان أووال

    Nor close or distant people

    Nor judge, authority or ruler

  8. كفاني علم ربي عن سؤالي

    عن التبيين بالهذيان والقال

    My Lord’s knowledge sufficed me from asking

    Or rambling incoherently

  9. فكم قد جادلي من غير قول

    وكم خير حبا من غير تسآل

    How many disputed me without speaking

    And brought much good without asking

  10. وكم ضر أزاح بمحض فضل

    وأشيالم تكن تخطر على البال

    And how much harm was dispelled purely by grace

    Thoughts that never crossed my mind

  11. فحمد ثم حمد ثم حمد

    لمولانا الكريم المفضل الوال

    So praise, and praise, and praise

    To our Master, the Bountiful, the Sublime

  12. إلهي سيدي كن لي فإني

    فقير مستجير بك من أهوال

    My God, my Master, be for me, for I

    Am a poor man seeking refuge from horrors

  13. فمن لي ياالكريم الوجه من لي

    إذا خانتني أعمالي والأحوال

    For who do I have, O Generous One, who do I have

    If my deeds and states betray me

  14. فكن لي يا عظيم الفضل كن لي

    وهب لي من عظيم أفضالك أفضال

    So be for me, O Great in Bounty, be for me

    Grant me the greatest of Your great bounties

  15. ولا خيبتن يا مولاي ظني

    ولا كذبت أطماعي والآمال

    And do not disappoint my hopes, my Master

    Or belie my aspirations and dreams

  16. واختم لي بإحسان وخير

    إذا كلت لنا أعمار وآجال

    And seal for me with good and blessing

    When our lifespans and terms come to an end

  17. وصلى الله ربي كل حين

    وسلم مانثنى غصن أو مال

    And may my Lord bless

    Every time the branch of a tree sways

  18. على طه المشفع في البرايا

    وأصحابه مع الأنصار والآل

    The Intercessor of humanity,

    And his companions, supporters and Household
