أشكو إلى الواحد الرحمن

ما قد علاني من الأحزان

I complain to the One, the Merciful

Of what sorrows have befallen me

والهم والغم والكرب

والضر والشوس والأدران

And worries, griefs, troubles

Afflictions, adversities, and pains

ما أرفع شكايتي الإله

سبحانه المفضل المنان

I do not raise my complaints to anyone but God

Glory be to Him, the Benevolent, the Benefactor

وليس ينفع أحد غيره

إن هو حبيبك وإن هو شان

And none can help but Him

Whether He is your beloved or glory

وإن سكت كفى علمه

سبحان ربي عظيم الشان

If I stay silent, His knowledge suffices

Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent

لكن دعائي على فقري

وإنني عاجز عنوان

But still I pray in my poverty

Though I am helpless and weak

عسى فرج عن قريب لي

فإنني بالحزن ملان

May relief come to me soon

For I am filled with sorrow

لكن ظني حسن في الله

بأن يجيني فرج في الآن

But still I have good hope in God

That He will send me relief now

وأدرك السول والمامول

بل فوق ما يطلب الإنسان

And I will attain what I wish and hope for

Even beyond what man asks

ما خاب عبد طلب ربه

سبحانه الواحد الحنان

No servant who sought his Lord was denied

Glory to Him, the One, the Tender

يارب يارب يارباه

يارب من تفك العان

O Lord, O Lord, O Lord

O Lord, remove this distress

يامن إذا ضاق أحد به حال

ففرج الآن يارحمن

O You who, when someone is tried,

Relieve it now, O Merciful

ياخالقي قد علمت الحال

ففرج الآن يارحمن

My Creator, You know my state

Relieve it now, O Merciful

وكن لعبدك في أحواله

لكي يكن منك في رضوان

And be for Your servant in all his states

That he may be in Your good pleasure

ويسر أمره بلا عسر

ولا تفرح به الشنآن

Make his matter easy without hardship

And do not let his enemies rejoice over him

وهب لي الخير والخيرات

وكن له أينما قد كان

Grant me good and blessings

And be with him wherever he may be

وياقريب الفرج فرج

على الذي خزنه قدبان

O You who are near to relief, relieve

This one who sorrow has confined

مالي إلهي سوى فضلك

وجودك الدائم الهتان

I have no one but You, my God

Your eternal bounty and care

كفى كفى بك إلهي من

عليم بي مفضل منان

Enough, You are enough for me, my God

All-Knowing, Benevolent Benefactor

رفضت حولي مع القوة

بنيت أمري على التكلان

I have rejected all other strength

And built my affairs on complete reliance

على الذي بيده الأقدار

وبيده الفضل والإحسان

Upon You who holds all destinies

And in whose hand is bounty and favor

أرجوه يغمرني أفضاله

وإن كثر مني العصيان

I hope You will immerse me in Your grace

Though I am abundant in disobedience

وإن يجيني فرج عاجل

كثير وافر كبير الشان

And that You send me immediate relief

Abundant, ample, magnificent

ما قط يخطر لنا بالبال

بمحض جود من الحنان

What never occurred to me

Out of Your pure kindness and care

ياذا الجلال وذا الإكرام

قل ما طلبته فعده كان

O You of Majesty and Generosity

Say what I asked, and make it be

قريب عاجل بمحض الجود

لا بالعمل لا ولا الهذيان

Soon, immediate, out of pure kindness

Not for my deeds or raving

يارب واختم لنا بالخير

لكل من حينه قد حان

O Lord, make our ending good

For all whose time has come

ثم الصلاة على المختار

المصطفى من ولد عدنان

Then send blessings upon the Chosen One

From the children of Adnan

والآل والصحب والتسليم

عليهم ما جرى الملوان

And his family, companions, and peace

Upon them as long as the flags flutter
