خذ من الوقت ما سمح

واعذران عضك أو رمح

Take from time what is allowed,

And forgive those who bite or pierce you.

إنما اللوم عندنا

لو صلحنا لقد صلح

The blame among us,

If we made amends, all would be mended.

ما لنا غير كسبنا

موجب الحزن والفرح

We have nothing but what we earn,

The cause of sorrow and joy.

لا يلم غير نفسه

من لقى الهم والترح

None blames but himself,

He who faces worries and distress.

ذامع عفوه الكثير

ولو يؤاخذ بما اجترح

Abundant is His great forgiveness,

Even if He takes us to account for what we commit.

ما بقى قط دابة

هكذا قد أتى وصح

No creature remains

As such it has come and gone.

تب إلى الله كي نفوز

بالأماني وبالمنح

Repent to God that we may win

Our wishes and gifts.

واعتكف تحت بابه

فاز من تحته انطرح

And seclude yourself at His door,

For he succeeds who at it lays prostrate.

بابه باب كل خير

خاب من عنه انتزح

His door is the door to all good.

Disappointed is he who from it withdraws.

لا تعرج على سواه

فاستمع قول من نصح

Do not detour to other than Him

So listen to the words of one who gives advice.

لم يخب قاصد الكريم

من قرع بابه انفتح

The seeker of the Generous is not disappointed.

Whoever knocks at His door, it opens.

راجي الله لا يخيب

والذي ظنه وضح

The hopeful of God is not denied.

That which he supposed has become clear.

يا إلهي وخالقي

عبدكم نحوكم جنح

My God and Creator,

Your servant leans toward You.

يرتجي صفحك الجميل

فاعف يا خير من صفح

Seeking Your beautiful pardon,

So pardon, O Best of those who pardon.

أعطني ما بخاطري

والذي فوقه سنح

Grant me what is in my mind,

And that which above it You have conferred.

لا تبقى ولا تذر

فالطمع نحوكم طمح

Do not leave anything or abandon,

For greed toward You has aspired.

فضلك الواسع العظيم

نحوه القصد قد سبح

Your vast, tremendous grace,

Toward it my aim has swam.

إن يكن ذنبنا عظيم

عفوكم فوقه رجح

If our sin is enormous,

Your pardon above it outweighs.

وامنن امنن بتوبة

كل قلبي بها انشرح

And grant a repentance,

At which my heart feels relief.

عمه النور والهدى

حل فيه به انفسح

It is filled with light and guidance,

In it with it my soul feels at peace.

لا بحولي وقوتي

إنما الله به سمح

Not by my strength and might,

But by God it is allowed.

واختم العمر سيدي

بالمحاسن والملح

And conclude my life, my Master,

With virtues and blessings.

والصلاة مع السلام

ما سرى البرق أولمح

And prayers and peace

Be ever upon the one

دائمان على الذي

كل خير لنا فتح

Who opened all good for us,

And upon his noble family,

وعلى آله الكرام

والصحابة ومن صلح

Companions and those of righteousness.

And to You belong praise always,

ولك الحمد دائماً

ما حمد عبد أو مدح

As long as a servant praises or lauds.
