يا سالم إن شئت السلامه

فوض وسلم للسلام

O Salim, if you want safety

Submit and surrender to peace

لا تعترض تلق الملامه

فاحذر تعرض للملام

Do not object to face blame

Beware of encountering blame

وإن شئت تظفر بالكرامه

فاصحب لاقوام كرام

And if you want to win honor

Befriend honorable people

أهل التقى والاستقامه

من صاحب القوم استقام

The people of piety and righteousness

Whoever accompanies righteous people becomes righteous

محبهم يوم القيامه

معهم وفي كل قيام

Their love on Judgement Day

Will be with them at every rising

والعلم خذه لك علامه

واعمل وعلم يا غلام

And take knowledge as your sign

Act and learn, O young man

بالرفق ما تلق ندامه

ويكون اسمع للكلام

With gentleness, you won't encounter regret

And you will be most receptive to words

واطرح على رأسك عمامه

من المحبه والهيام

And place upon your head a turban

Of love and passion

عسى لنا منه قلامه

نسعد بها بين الأنام

May we have some solace from it

To be happy amongst people

يا فوز من نوره أمامه

يسعى به حين الظلام

O success, whose light is before him

He strives with it when in darkness

واجعل لك الاذكار كارشامه

بل قوت قلبك والأدام

And make your invocations like kohl

But the food of your heart and veins

ودع الملل ودع السآمة

بل دم على الذكر دوام

And leave boredom and tedium

Rather, persist in invocation

في حال سيرك والإقامه

اجعله شربك والطعام

In your travels and residences

Make it your drink and food

به الفتى يبلغ مرامه

وكم كرامات عظام

With it the young man achieves his hopes

And so many great honors

والقلب حله بالسلامه

من كل الأخلاق الذمام

And fill your heart with safety

From all the blameworthy morals

تحل في دار الكرامه

دار الرضا دار سلام

You will arrive at the abode of honor

The abode of pleasure, the abode of peace

واذكر مماتك والقيامه

يوم الغرق يوم الزحام

And remember your death and judgement

The day of sinking, the day of crowds

فيه التقاصص بالظلامه

وفثيه يشتد الخصام

In it is the detailing of blame

And the disputes intensify

يا ويل من كثر انتقامه

من كسبه الفعل الحرام

Oh woe to those with much vengeance

Who gained by forbidden deeds

ذو العقل من يخزن كلامه

وجد في حفظه وقام

The rational one stores his words

And is steadfast in preserving them

يحرس ويسلم من ندامه

يفرح إذا حان الحمام

He guards and is safe from regret

Rejoices when the time of rest comes

صلوات ربي مستدامة

مع السلام المستدام

Continuous prayers of my Lord

With never ending peace

على الظلل بالغمامه

والآل والصحب الكرام

Upon the Messenger in clouds

And his family and companions

أهل الإمامة والزعامة

واختم لنا أحسن ختام

The people of leadership and authority

And conclude for us the best conclusion

للعمر إذ حان انصرامه

واغفر لنا كل اجترام

When the end of life comes

And forgive us all sins

والحمدلله ختامه

أعني كلامي والنظام

And praise be to God in conclusion
