With beauty faded, gone astray

وفتى ناداك من كرب

أشعلت أحشاؤه حرقا

A youth called you in agony

His heart by yearning set ablaze

غرقت في الدمع مقلته

فدعا إنسانها الغرقا

In tears, his eyes did drown

Calling out her name as he lays

إنما عاقبت ناظره

إذا أعاد الطرف مسترقا

You punish those who steal a glance

If their eyes dare to gaze your way

ما لمن نمت محاسنه

ان يعادي طرف من رمقا

Why scorn those who your beauty praised

Whose eyes on you did gently graze

لك ان تبدي لنا حسنا

ولنا ان نعمل الحدقا
