بَكى الخزّ مِن روحٍ وأنكر جلدهُ
وَعجّت عَجيجاً من جذامَ المطارفُ
The velvet wept from a soul and denied its skin
And the spears clamored with the leprosy of the blades
وَقالَ العبا قد كنتُ حيناً لباسكم
وَأَكسيةٌ كردية وقطائفُ
And the clothes said, “Once I was your garment
And a Kurdish cloak and headscarves"
