فَتَغّيَرَت إِلا مَلاعبها
وَمعرَّساً مِن جَونَةٍ ظَهرِ
Nothing has changed but their playgrounds,
And smooth-backed hills instead of sand dunes.
عُرِشَ الثَّقابُ لَها بِدارِ إِقامةٍ
لِلحيِّ بَينَ نَظائرٍ وِترِ
The Pleiades have pitched their tents for them
Among equals where darkness reigns.
فَرَموا بِهنَّ نحور أَودِيَةٍ
مِن درّ بَين أَناصِبٍ غُبرِ
And they have cast them into the bellies of valleys
Of unpolished pearls amid grey slopes.
