وَأَدْهَمَ قَد جُبْتُ ظَلْماءَهُ

كَما اجْتابَتِ الكَاعِبُ الخيْعلاَ

I engulfed its darkness

As the diver engulfs the deep

وَلا رَعِشاً إِنْ جَرى سَاقُهُ

إذا بادَرَ الحَمَلَة الهيْضَلاَ

Without quivering if its leg flows

When it dares into the turbulent billow
