If ignorance rules, truth is killed,
No law or scripture then upheld.
I know the ignoramus draws near, bold and rude,
While the wise remain obscure and subdued.
No wonder if clouds burst and waters poured,
Or fog should rise and vision blurred.
Pebbles in plains can make rain,
As meteors in high heavens burn and flame.
If you think mere rocks rain can evoke,
Meteors for the brave are bespoke.
The ignorant can do naught but want,
Even if for them heaven did grant.
The wise only wish to drink their fill,
Even if lightning clouds their valleys fill.
Of what use is the fool when fate frowns?
Where can we find him if need surrounds?
Wealth makes him mean, ruin he adores,
He likes collapsed buildings, broken doors.
Behind evil and harm he lurks,
The necks bow before him as he irks.
Ignorance breeds ugly dispositions,
So fools are prone to transgressions.
If fate gives dominance despite all,
He tyrannizes, to him ravens call.
When he dies, sins howl and scream,
At his birth, dogs snarl and blaspheme.
He lives in sins and dies denying,
So he can be chastised in his dying.
